EDUCATION.

The educational establishments of the town include, in addition to the National School, the Church Infant School and the Council Schools, a number of high-class boarding schools and colleges. Most of these have their own spacious grounds for athletic purposes, but the sands arc generally used for the hockey matches now so popular with young ladies' seminaries. Special terms are also allowed by the Golf Club. The National Infants' School in Mitford Street is considered to be one of the best examples of modern elementary educational buildings in the East Riding.
